Solimar Beach California
Solimar Beach California
If you're on the hunt for surfing locations in Southern California, then you definitely can't go wrong with checking out Solimar Beach. It's certainly on every SoCal surfer dude's list. Solimar Beach is situated between Emma Wood State Beach Park and Faria Beach Park in Ventura County and is easily accessible from Highway 101.
The ocean temperature and breaks in Solimar Beach are great not only for surfing but for fishing and swimming as well. You would have to bring your own gear though since there are no rental shops along the beach. Neither are there showers, water stations, and other facilities. The good side of this is that Solimar Beach is not as crowded as other more commercialized beaches in Southern California. You can easily find your own spot and have plenty of space for a good swim. More people, mostly surfers, come in when the breaks are good.
Fronting Solimar Beach are rows of oceanfront houses and vacation homes for rent. There's also a parking space in Old Highway 1. You'll definitely enjoy Solimar Beach whether you just want to spend a day at the beach or take an extended stay. Some surfing lessons are held in Solimar Beach as well if you care to join one.
